The terms and fees for using our geodata (maps, photos and property information) differ depending on how you want to use them.

Calculate the fee and discount

In some cases, your business may fall into more than one of the use categories. If you can not determine which category your business belongs to then you are welcome to contact our spatial data support for advice.

Use categories

This use category applies if you want to develop products or services where geodata is included for sale to other users.

If you want to become a reseller of geodata, you need to sign a special processor agreement with us.

Some type of spread may be made by everyone

The user has the right to:

  • Publish maps / images as illustration in analog form e.g. in reports, books or the like can be done free of charge.
  • Publishing maps / images in digital form (only raster breaks) requires that your own information is displayed on top and that that information is the primary one. Can be done free of charge.

Restrictions:

  • Publication of maps / images in digital form, without own information, requires a license for each product, unless they are available as open data.
  • Publication in digital form is not permitted in any type of commercial context, e.g. where published images are available for a fee or on websites / e-services / apps that are financed by advertising, advertisements or the like.

When making maps/pictures newer than 50 years available, the picture must be provided with copyright marking © Lantmäteriet.

This use category applies if you want to use geodata as internal business support and / or planning data in your or your company's commercial operations.

You may use spatial data to illustrate your or your company's own information in brochures and on the Internet, for example to show where the company operates. Geodata provided by Lantmäteriet may not be made available in any other way than above to external users, either in processed or unprocessed form.

This usage category applies if you want to use geodata for any of the following purposes.

Personal use - You can, for example, use geodata in your own GPS or to illustrate your personal blog on the Internet. By personal blog is meant one that is not lucrative for the blogger. You may not make data available in any way other than above outside your immediate family circle, either for free or for a fee.

Non-profit use - Your non-profit association's internal activities. The association can be a sports, sobriety, local, political, religious, genealogical association or similar. The association must be a registered legal entity.

This use category applies to you who work in an authority, municipality or other organization that performs public tasks in accordance with law or other instructions.

You may use spatial data to illustrate your public organisation's own information in brochures and on the Internet, for example to show where the organization's premises are. Geodata provided by Lantmäteriet may not be made available to third parties in addition to what is stated in the license.

In some cases, a public organization may conduct commercial activities. If you want to use geodata in the commercial business, you also need to sign an agreement for commercial end use.

This use category applies if you teach, research or study at a primary or secondary school or university or if you work in the field of culture and want to use geodata products in your business.

FUK agreement

Lantmäteriet, Statistics Sweden (SCB) and the Swedish Geological Survey (SGU) provide geodata free of charge for use in education, research and cultural activities.
