Boundary point Direct

This service provides access to information from the digital Cadastral Index Map that is part of the Real Property Register. The information contains boundary points with geometry (position) and attributes that describe the type of marking, position accuracy, marking mode and designation. The product name in Swedish is Gränspunkt Direkt.

About this product

The service has two search options:

  • Retrieve one or more boundary points with all attributes by entering the identity.
  • Find references to boundary points using geometry- or designation filters.
The references can then be used to obtain complete information about the boundary points.

Maintenance and update frequency

The boundary points are updated by the cadastral authorities in connection with property formation. In addition to the national cadastral authority Lantmäteriet, there are 39 municipal cadastral authorities (KLM) responsible for real property formation.

The cadastral index map is continuously updated, by Lantmäteriet and the municipal authorities, in connection with property formation. In some municipal authorities, the update is periodic, which means that they submit monthly updates.

After updating the information in the Cadastral Index Map, it takes about an hour before it is displayed in the service.

Technical framework and standard for direct access services

Our direct access services are primarily based on standards from the World Wide Webb Consortium (3WC) och The Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC).

The Open Geospatial website Consortium (new window)

The service interfaces are REST based where object types are in many cases built using GML (Geography Markup Language) or JSON (JavaScript Object Notation) to describe its geographical properties.

The services are of the nature 'question-answer' where the consumer (user's system) sends a service call with search terms or selection parameters over the Internet and receives a list with one or more geographical objects in response.

To quickly get started and test the services before they are integrated into a separate system, a tool such as Postman can be used as a tool for testing REST-based Webservices.
