Here you can download data or connect to services providing maps and geographic information provided by Lantmäteriet as open data. The products are free of charge and may be used and published freely. Data is available via FTP or as services via API.

Our open geodata is available according to the open data license Creative Commons, CC0 (new window). The license means that you may use, distribute, redo, modify and build on Lantmäteriet’s open data - even for commercial purposes without any restrictions.
You may enter Lantmäteriet as a source when spreading our open data, but there is no requirement to do this.

Maps 

District division is a geographical division of Sweden mainly used for statistical purposes. This product contains districts surfaces district codes and district names.

The Property Map (Economic map 1935-1978) is a register map that show for real estate boundaries, registry numbers, residential buildings, gardens, farming areas, ancient monuments and many place names. The scale is 1:10 000, except for the interior of Norrland, where the scale is 1:20 000

Image and elevation data 

Elevation data grid 50+, contains height values on the ground in a grid with 50 m intervals.
On the FTP download site, the Grid 50+ is available in two variants distinguished by a prefix; 

  • nh based on the new national elevation model from LiDAR data
  • HDB based on the old height data bank

Historical orthophotos are available in a complete nationwide coverage for the reference year 1960, which includes orthophotos from the years 1949 to 1970. Another nationwide coverage for reference year 1975 are under construction with orthophotos from 1970 to 1980 which is continuously updated with historical orthophotos as they are produced.

Positioning and gravity

SWEPOS DGNSS service is a nationwide service for positioning in real time with GPS / GNSS receivers. More information can be found in the Guide to the DGNSS service.

To use the service, you need a GNSS device that can receive standardized correction data (RTCM) GNSS via the Internet. You also need to register as a user.
