Relationships and parameters
Different relationships and parameters are needed to transform co-ordinates from one co-ordinate system to another or to carry out conversions within a system. For this purpose, parameters for transformation between SWEREF 99 and RT 90, as well as a number of local systems, have been published.
Transformation methods
The most commonly used transformations are presented under this heading. They include similarity (Helmert) transformation in two and three dimensions and conversion of X, Y, Z to and from latitude, longitude and h.
Gtrans
Gtrans is a software package for co-ordinate transformations that has been developed by the Geodetic Department at Lantmäteriet. Gtrans is widely used in Sweden. You can order Gtrans or Gtrans updates here.
