A mortgage deed is proof that you have taken out a mortgage on a property. Nowadays, mortgage deeds are issued in electronic form (computerised mortgage deed). It may be wise, for safety reasons, to convert old mortgage deeds in paper form to computerised mortgage deeds. Then there is no risk of the valuable document being lost or destroyed.
You can also obtain a paper mortgage deed, as required for foreign borrowing or mortgaging between private persons, but this must be specified in the application.
